You don’t have to speak German to produce a German audiobook.

You need a reliable process.

We define the important creative decisions before recording starts: characters, tone, relationships, pronunciation and the overall feeling of your story.

Our project communication can take place in English while the audiobook itself is recorded in German.

In the end, you’ll receive a complete, finished audiobook that has already been checked for errors in both the text and the audio.

Get a preview of what your German audiobook might sound like

You don’t have to commit to a full audiobook production without knowing how your story will sound in German.

Send me a short excerpt from your finalized German manuscript and a few details about your project. If the project is a good fit, I can record an individual sample so you can hear how the voice, tone and interpretation work for your story before we move forward.

Even if you don’t speak German yourself, the sample gives us a concrete starting point to discuss mood, characters and overall direction.

How the production works

from your manuscript to the finished audiobook

01 – Tell me about your project

Genre, word count, German manuscript, release plans.

02 – Sample & alignment

I will provide you with an audio sample based on your manuscript.

03 – Characters & pronunciation

The creative brief and questions requiring discussion are clarified beforehand.

04 – Recording

German narration from Fanny’s own studio.

05 – Editing & mastering

I handle the editing and mastering myself and create the final files from the raw material. You don’t need to worry about finding another service provider.

06 – Delivery

Finished audio files according to the agreed requirements.

Your audiobook. Your rights.

As a self-publisher, you likely made a conscious decision to control what happens to your book yourself.

Why should it be any different when it comes to the audiobook?

With my production service, you receive a finished product without having to hand your project over to an audiobook publisher. You retain control over your audiobook and decide for yourself how and where you want to publish it.

I am paid for my work—not through an ongoing share of your future sales.

Working with Fanny is an absolute pleasure. She’s narrated most of my German language audiobooks and she’s amazing. Beloved by listeners, an absolute professional to work with and just amazing at bringing my heroines to life.

Need help with publishing? I can help with that, too.

Producing the audiobook is one part of the process. Getting it out into the world is the next one.

If you’re unsure which publishing routes, platforms or distribution options are available for a German audiobook, I can help you make sense of them and point you in the right direction. Based on my experience with audiobook productions and the German market, I can support you in understanding the next steps and choosing a suitable path for your project.

You don’t have to figure everything out on your own once the final files are ready.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to speak German?

No. Project communication can take place in English. What matters is that you provide a professionally translated and finalized German manuscript before recording begins.

Do you translate my book into German?

No. I provide German audiobook narration and production, but not literary translation.

Your manuscript should be professionally translated and proofread before the recording starts.

What files do you need from me?

At minimum, I need the finalized German manuscript and the most important information about your project.

For fiction, a character guide and pronunciation notes for names, fictional places or invented terminology are extremely helpful.

Providing the original-language manuscript as additional context is also recommended.

How do we handle names and fictional terms?

Send me pronunciation references for anything that isn’t obvious from the German text.

Audio recordings are especially helpful for fictional names, places or invented languages.

We clarify these details before recording so they remain consistent throughout the audiobook.

Can I hear my book before committing to the full production?

Yes. For suitable projects, I can record a short sample from your German manuscript so you can hear how the voice and overall interpretation fit your story before we begin the full production.

How can I review the recording if I don't speak German?

I can support you in the process and find independent German proof listening for you if requested.

Can you help me publish the German audiobook?

I can share my experience with audiobook platforms and publication routes and help you understand the next steps.

The exact level of support depends on your project and distribution plan.

Do you work with authors outside Germany?

Yes. The production itself takes place in my studio in Germany, so our collaboration can be handled remotely.

Tell me about your project.

Whether you’d like to hear a sample first or already have a specific audiobook project in mind – send me a few details and I’ll get back to you personally.

What happens after you get in touch?

I’ll take a look at your project, check whether it’s a good fit for me and my schedule, and get back to you.

From there, we’ll go over the key details: scope, your ideas and expectations, timing, and everything else that’s important for the production.

And if everything feels right, we’ll get started.
